Salt Lake City

Salt Lake City offers a lot of attractions such as: The Beehive House which is the former house of the Brigham Family and was built in the honour of the pioneers from the region. Free daily tours. If you are looking for discovering some hidden part of your history you can visit the Family History Library founded in 1894. This is the biggest library in the world of its kind. Can you give a short summary of your main business activities?

Nestled between Baton Rouge and New Orleans, Houmas House is an escape into the 1880’s. From the moment you enter the garden gates you begin your journey living a day in the life of the wealthy Sugar Baron and his Mistress. From the entertaining and experiential tour, to the lavish dining experience, to the unexpected landscape, your senses will be on overdrive at every turn. The Mansion, known as “The Sugar Palace”, is filled with rare period antiques and original artwork. The restaurants are perfect for indulging in a leisurely lunch or experience fine Louisiana dining at its best. Latil’s Landing has been voted one of the top 20 restaurants in the US, boasting one of the largest wine collections in Louisiana. Only here will you dine in the original Houmas House built in 1775. After visiting the mansion you’ll want to take time to stroll through our gardens. Visitors come from around the globe to see our gardens, explore the Mansion-hearing stories of the wealthy Sugar Baron and his Mistress, to dine in our award winning Latil’s Landing, and very soon they will come to spend the night in our luxurious cottages.

What is your inside tip? i.e. Arrive Early, Best time of year to visit, group or early bird discounts etc”

The gardens are in full color year round. However, typically Spring and Summer are the most optimal for garden explorations. If you’re coming for dinner at Latil’s Landing, it is suggested you make reservations. Our restaurant is small and demand is high- open Wed-Sat 6-9. Number one tip: if you really want to experience all that Houmas House has to offer, allow at least 3 hours to tour the mansion and gardens and dine in our Café Burnside.

Can you highly recommend another tourist activity not connected with your business?

Just 5 miles from Houmas House is the Tanger Outlet Mall. It’s recent renovation has added dozens of new merchants and is a great shopping excursion. They also offer tax free shopping for International visitors. .

Are there any other landmarks or activities (etc) you think visitors may find interesting in your area?

Within 30 miles of Houmas House are three other plantation worth visiting: San Francisco Plantation, Oak Alley Plantation, and Laura: A Creole Plantation.
